Safety
Risk is not only inherent in what we do, it’s a necessity. The risk that participants experience, both actual and perceived, is essential to providing opportunities for growth. Nonetheless, it must be managed. We understand very clearly that the potential for growth and transformation is greatly hindered in environments that are unsafe. Higher Ground prides itself on considering both the physical and emotional well-being of participants. All staff members undergo extensive training and participate in ongoing professional development as part of a comprehensive risk management plan.
Growth
Transformation . . . Change . . . and Growth are all words that describe what we’re about at Higher Ground. Exciting though they may be, the activities we offer are not an end unto themselves. Instead, they afford participants the opportunity for experiential learning. Our experiential approach allows groups to learn through doing, and provides a unique, growth-oriented experience. Higher Ground programs are specifically designed to encourage growth in relationship to God, others, and self.
Challenge
Challenge is crucial in the process of experiential learning. For it is in the context of challenge that character is revealed; that we learn to help and trust others; that we are given the opportunity to overcome; and that we see the value of struggle. Challenging environments create tremendous opportunity for learning. Higher Ground understands that challenge comes in all shapes and sizes. Our programs are customized to ensure the appropriate level of challenge for each group. We also work with participants to create an environment of trust and support that leads to success.

Higher Ground believes that professionalism results in a more meaningful experience for our clients. We maintain the highest standards in all that we do to assure well-designed and executed programs from start to finish.
